After earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine, Dr. Megan immediately emerged herself into the field of pelvic health. She sparked interest in Pelvic Health during graduate school which was the beginning of her pelvic floor journey. Since graduating, Dr. Megan has devoted time, finances and a ton of passion to understanding the pelvic floor and obstetrics to better serve the women in her community.

Eventually, Dr. Megan opened a holistic Pelvic Health Space in Charleston, SC, to provide better care for those in the low country. As she continued in her practice, she heard story after story about "bad births" and women "wishing they could forget what happened." This hit deep! Women should be excited about childbirth. Ready to share their story with their friends and family. Ready to share their story with their kids as they grow up. Instead, she was hearing horror stories about the trauma that occurred during birth. That's when Dr. Megan decided something had to change!

She devoted much of her time and energy in the obstetrics world of pelvic health to help women during pregnancy and even more focus on their births. Her goal is to help you understand what happens during childbirth, choices you can make during labor and delivery, and some great tools to help prep you for "game day."

  • Childbirth prep classes in Charleston, SC, can help expectant mothers and their partners in so many ways:

    • Building Confidence – As much as you may not want to admit it, pregnancy and birthing can be scary. There are a lot of unknowns, and it’s important to discuss your concerns with medical professionals and other moms. The more preparation you undergo, the easier it will be to remember your education when you go into labor. With enough practice, your breathing techniques will become second nature.

    • Bonding with Your Partner – Birthing prep classes aren’t just for the expectant mother; we encourage your partner to attend as well! Men – first-time fathers, especially – have an opportunity to learn a great deal during the prenatal period. They may not be as familiar with female anatomy, with pregnancy, or with parenting in general. By getting educated together, you can develop a stronger bond with your partner and help them better understand you, what you are going through, and what to expect in the future.

    • Discussing Pain Management Techniques – We won’t sugarcoat it; delivering a baby usually involves a lot of pain. How you choose to deal with that pain is up to you. We will be happy to discuss your options with you and help you make an educated decision. We know that many mothers want to deliver without using chemical pain management, and we can help you prep for that experience.

    • Becoming More Connected to Your Body – Your journey as a mother doesn’t end when you deliver your baby; in fact, it’s just the beginning. The topics you learn about from our educational program will carry with you for the rest of your life, helping you feel more connected to your body. Parenting a newborn is difficult, but our support will help you now and in the future. The exercises and breathing techniques you learn in the prenatal period will allow you to unlock your core and pelvic muscle strength, making many of your parenting tasks much easier.

How Exactly Does The Program Work?

Upon enrollment, you will have immediate access to the online course. You will have online recordings broken down into mini sections so you can take it at your own pace.
