Urinary Incontinence – Childbirth, aging, and injuries can all make it difficult to hold in urine. By working with a physical therapist to strengthen the pelvic muscles, you can prevent embarrassing accidents related to urinary incontinence and have more confidence when you are in public.
Fecal Incontinence – Again, giving birth, aging, and injuries can cause issues with holding in your feces. Certain health conditions can cause similar difficulties. Take control of your body with physical therapy so you don’t have to worry anymore!
Pelvic Organ Prolapse – Menopause and giving birth can push your pelvic organs out of their usual positions, causing pain and discomfort. You may be able to treat pelvic organ prolapse without surgery by restoring the strength in your pelvic muscles.
Chronic Pelvic Pain – There are many conditions that can lead to recurring pain in the pelvic region. No matter the cause of your chronic pelvic pain, you can find relief by working with a physical therapist.
Painful Intercourse (Dyspareunia) – Experiencing pain during intercourse can be both psychological and physical. A physical therapist can help you identify the causes of your dyspareunia and develop a pelvic exercise routine to restore your sexual wellness.
Overactive Bladder – An overactive bladder can lead to urinary issues, even if you are otherwise healthy. Working with a therapist at our women’s health clinic can allow you to exercise more control over your bladder and fight sudden urges.
Pelvic Muscle Weakness
Postpartum Pelvic Pain – You may experience pain after giving birth for a variety of reasons. Rehabilitation of the pelvic muscles can restore their strength and may lessen pain from a range of sources.
Endometriosis-related Pain – Endometriosis is a painful condition in which the uterine lining grows outside the uterus. It can start after a woman’s first menstruation and last until menopause, meaning it can potentially cause decades of pain. A physical therapist from our women’s health clinic can help you develop a treatment plan for the pain symptoms of endometriosis to improve your quality of life.
Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome – This condition can be caused by pelvic muscle dysfunction or by a range of other causes. It can cause pain and make it difficult to control your bladder. Physical therapy can help you address the muscular causes of this issue so you can live pain free and find relief from incontinence.
Constipation – Many women experience prenatal and postnatal constipation, and it can have many other causes as well. Pelvic muscle exercise is one potential solution that can allow you to have better control over your bowels and eliminate constipation.
Pelvic Floor Muscle Dysfunction – Issues with the pelvic muscles can be the root cause of many conditions, so addressing any issues is a great way to find relief from a range of issues.
Pre- and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation – The recovery period after surgery is always difficult and can lead to issues like dyspareunia, vulvodynia, and more. Whether you are experiencing postnatal issues after having a c-section or have had any other type of abdominal surgery, exercising your pelvic muscles can allow you to have a quicker and more thorough recovery.
Vulvodynia (Chronic Vulvar Pain) – Prenatal and postnatal hormone changes, menopause, and pelvic muscle weakness are just a few of the situations that can lead to recurring pain in the vulva. Exercising the pelvic muscles can address the muscular causes of vulvodynia to help you alleviate vulva pain and restore your sexual wellness.
Sciatica and Lower Back Pain Related to Pelvic Floor Dysfunction – Pelvic organ prolapse and muscular issues in the pelvis can pinch the sciatic nerve, causing shooting pain in the lower back and legs. You can work to solve these issues with a series of exercises.
Our team can help you with any of these health conditions, so get in touch with us if you are interested in childbirth preparation classes in Charleston, SC, or to inquire about any of the other services we offer.

Kind Words
What Makes Our Services Different?
We are all just like you: women, moms, and individuals who have had our own journey with pelvic floor dysfunction! That’s why we are great at what we do! We will not be teaching you Kegels while you are lying down on your back. Life is too busy and no one has time for that! That is not functional. How often do you spend time lying down besides sleeping? We want to help you understand how to use your pelvic floor and core on a daily basis! We make the connection and meaning of your body matter!
We do not speed through our evaluations, hook you up to a machine, keep you on your back the entire time, or leave you in a room alone to do exercises!
We believe in an active and hands-on approach to treatment where we look at the whole body to find the underlying cause of these Women's Health issues to ensure you find lasting relief! Grounded in a sense of warmth & comfort, we’re passionate about providing positive, life-changing experiences for each unique individual.
